Welcome to the newest addition to CCMmagazine.com...Best Thing I Heard Today

Christian music has never been better than it is right now! The shear number of artists & genres as well as in the quality of the music across all genres is amazing. It's an impossibility for any one fan, expert or fan media outlet to hear and cover all of it.

No matter what genre is your favorite, chances are there is a group or song that you have not discovered yet.

It's our intention for this page to help you discover something new that the CCM staff and contributors think is the "best thing we heard today."

Best Thing I Heard Today: Zachary Ochsner ‘Big Plans

Today while sorting through CCM's New Releases submissions I came across an submission from a new singer/songwriter from Bluffton, Indiana named Zachary Ochsner. He submitted his first full-length indie album, Big Plans, to us and I'm so glad he did. Zachary Ochsner's album, Big Plans, is Best Thing I Heard Today!

Best Thing I Heard Today: Road Less Traveled ‘Rocks Cry Out’

I recently discovered the pop folk, Americana group Road Less Traveled comprised of Wes Winebarger (Vocals, Guitar, Keys) and Josh Smelser (Drums, Mandolin, Banjo, Vocals). Talk about two voices blending very well together...these guys have it. Their new song, "Rocks Cry Out," has more of a pop sound with a catchy hook than you might think for a "folk/Americana" band, but trust me, this song has a great hook. The Road Less Traveled's new song, "Rocks Cry Out," is the Best Thing I Heard Today.

Best Thing I Heard Today: James David William ‘This I My Communion’

James David William has a very unique sound. He's not your normal story-telling acoustic/folk singer/songwriter. If you're a fan of Mark Heard, John Mark McMillian, John Mark Pantana you're probably going to like this. If I can imagine David Bowie or Peter Murphy (of Bauhaus) sitting down with a guitar and playing a bunch of slower, intimate worship songs...it might sound like this. You should check him out. James David William's new song, "'This I My Communion'" is Best Thing I Heard Today!

Best Thing I Heard Today: Jean Bostic ‘Wrestling’

Today my favorite discovery is an artist named Jenn Bostic. Jean is a singer/songwriter in Nashville that blends several genres and influences—blues, soul, country, pop and gospel—in emotive songwriting and delivered with powerful and passionate vocals. Jean Bostic's new single, "Wrestling" from her latest album, Take My Hand pt 1, is the Best Thing I Heard Today!

Best Thing I Heard Today: Jervis Campbell ‘Glory’

Jervis Campbell is a relatively new Christian music artist from Charlotte, NC that now lives in Nashville. He has a unique blend of rock, R&B, Folk, and Gospel influences that makes for a really nice vibe. If you're not familiar, you should definitely go check him out. Think Zach Williams or Rhett Walker....kind of. Jervis Campbell's newest single, "Glory," is the Best Thing I Heard Today!

Best Thing I Heard Today: Sarah Reeves ‘Anxious’

Sarah Reeves is starting to drop new songs in advance of a new album. If the rest of the new project is anything like last weeks new song, "Anxious," her fans are in for some great new music. Sarah Reeves' newest single, "Anxious," is the Best Thing I Heard Today!
