CCM: What led you to pursue a career or ministry in music?
I grew up in the church and was around Christian music for as long as I can remember. That being said I always knew there was something so special about the impact of Christian music. When I really began to know Jesus in my heart and I saw transformation happen, I began to write songs that expressed Jesus working in my life. Eventually, God began to open up doors and the rest is history…

CCM: Do you remember that moment when you realized you wanted to make an actual career out of music?
The moment that changed everything was when I decided to sing “Divine Romance” by Phil Wickham in my 8th-grade talent show. At that moment I began to see the power of GOSPEL and MUSIC combined and how with that lives are changed.

CCM: If you could potentially tour with any other artist or band (that you haven’t already), who would you choose and why?
I would love to tour with TobyMac on his Hits Deep Tour someday. Toby has been a foundation for this industry for so many years. The way that he leads, teaches and lives out his life is truly a reflection of the love of Jesus. I think when an artist like himself has such a strong and successful career, we should take a step back and learn from people like him.

CCM: What can listeners expect in terms of the sound, style and lyrics?
Listeners can expect to hear a very fresh sound sonically from me, mixed with truths that declare the promises of God into someone’s life. I want to reach the broken, the hurting, and the lost in my music, therefore I try to push the boundaries of my lyrical content in my music. We all are in need of a Savior and my hope is to point the listener to Jesus in my music.

CCM: Who are your biggest musical influences?
Some of my biggest musical influences are TobyMac, Phil Wickham, and Matthew West.

CCM: What is your writing process when it comes to your music?
I am very involved in the whole writing process with my songs. I usually write with a couple of other writers, I am heavily involved with the vibe, melody and lyrical content of a song. It is so cool to see how God always shows up for every single writing session and they all look different. Usually, I grab a coffee before a session, walk into the room and begin to share an idea I feel that the Lord put upon my heart for that day which creates good discussion in the room. Then we usually begin to write the chorus which is the main idea or hook, and then we move onto the verses. The verses in my songs tend to be very wordy and raw; real lyrics that are relatable for the listener.

CCM: How important is your faith or spirituality within your music?
My faith is everything in my daily life and my music. Without JESUS I don’t know where I would be, I would be searching for love and truth in all the wrong places without him in my life. My music really is just an overflow of my story, life, and walk with God. Hopefully, that will inspire the listener to run into the arms of JESUS, no matter what they might be facing in the moment.
