The upward snaking bass from the first few measures of “Money” moves all the way up to your ear, pulling you in for the rest of The New Respects’ musically irresistible parable about wealth. From there, the funky Nashville foursome will have no problem keeping your attention through modern and throwback soul tunes with more swagger than any group of rookies should have. If there’s a band with a brighter future, we’ve not met them. The New Respects already have us hooked and they’re just getting started.
