Centricity Music recording artist Unspoken releases its first new project in four years, God Help Me, today (April 7) at digital and streaming outlets everywhere. The five-song EP features the title track, which is the current radio single ascending the charts and an official music video that has been viewed more than 878,000 times on YouTube alone.

Written by Unspoken’s lead vocalist Chad Mattson and bassist Jon Lowry along with GRAMMY-nominated songwriter Jeff Pardo, “God Help Me” is a cry inspired by scripture (Psalm 18:6) and the insurmountable challenges people encounter.

“‘God Help Me’ is about those desperate moments in life where all we can do is cry out to God,” says Mattson. “We’ve been there, so many times. Prayer changes things because God loves us and hears our cries.

“If you’re in a place of desperation, or know someone who is, we hope this song encourages you,” adds Mattson. “We are praying that the Lord impacts you and the people in your lives through ‘God Help Me’ in powerful ways.”

Mattson gives an inside look at where “God Help Me” came from on the band’s Facebook while Lowry and band members Ariel Munoz (drums) and Matthew Callaway (keys) each share their own ‘God help me’ moments.

God help me now
Feels like there’s no way out
But Jesus, You’re faithful and able
And You’ve never once let me down
God help me now
(“God Help Me” Chorus)

Along with “God Help Me,” the new EP features “Love Is Everything We Need” and “More Church Than Church,” a pop song of recovery co-written by and featuring Mattson and GRAMMY Awards-nominated, multi-Platinum-selling artist Walker Hayes. Both singer/songwriters have remarkable stories of recovery from addiction. Mattson, who has been transparent as a songwriter that has battled addiction, is now celebrating two decades into his sobriety.

The full God Help Me EP track listing follows:

1) God Help Me
2) Hard Times
3) Loved By You
4) Love Is Everything We Need
5) More Church Than Church (feat. Walker Hayes)

“With this record, we want to encourage the body to live what the Word of God says, to believe what it says and to stand up for what it says,” shares Mattson. “The whole goal is to encourage each other in the faith.”

The new EP follows 2019’s acclaimed, bestselling album Reason, which sparked several radio hits, including the multiformat No. 1 title track and Top 20 singles “You’ve Always Been” and “Just Give Me Jesus.”
