For 100 years, the Grand Ole Opry has been a stage where artists share their songs, their stories, and their hearts. On Wednesday night, Megan Woods stepped into that circle for the first time, carrying with her a message of faith, hope, and truth.
At just 24 years old, Megan’s career is unfolding quickly. Her debut single, “The Truth,” has skyrocketed to the top of the Christian music charts, currently sitting at #1. But despite this early success, she’s still in the process of crafting her first full-length album. This season of her life has been a whirlwind—just days ago, she performed on Fox & Friends, sharing her music with a national audience. Now, she’s not only making her Opry debut but also balancing life on the road as part of Big Daddy Weave’s Let it Begin tour with Ben Fuller, her first major tour experience.
Dressed in a shimmering black sequin gown, Megan opened her Opry debut with a powerful cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.” The song’s depth and vocal demands require both confidence and emotional strength, and Megan delivered both, filling the Opry House with a stirring performance that immediately captured the crowd.
Then came “The Truth.” Already a breakout hit, the song’s deeply personal lyrics about surrender, redemption, and God’s unwavering love have connected with listeners across the country. As she sang, the room seemed to transform into a worship experience, and you could feel the weight of the moment. Megan didn’t just perform—she ministered. The tears in the audience were proof that her voice carries more than just melody; it carries a message that reaches straight to the heart.
Megan’s debut is part of a growing presence of Christian artists at the Grand Ole Opry. Last year, Steven Curtis Chapman made history as the first Contemporary Christian artist to be inducted as an official member. And just last month, Brandon Lake made his own debut, performing in front of a crowd that braved the snow to see him. Tonight, however, Nashville felt like a different world—temperatures soared into the 80s, and with that warmth came Megan, bringing a fresh new voice to the circle.
She brought The Truth to the circle, and in doing so, reminded everyone in the Grand Ole Opry House why CCM music continues to find a home on this legendary stage.
As she continues writing and recording her first full-length album, one thing is clear: this is just the beginning for Megan Woods. And this could be week we talk about for years to come.
