Rebekah: Each writer we partner with brings different elements to the lyric—keeping it simple, but grounded in theology. Some of the writers have more of a pop style and were able to help us marry the two really well. We want to always make sure that the deep solid truth of the Bible is informing and shaping the songs.

CCM: Given the three-year gap between your previous project and this one, what does it feel like to finally share all that you’ve learned with everyone?
Brad:
We released the first single from Sound Of Heaven in November [2017]. It was the first song we had released in two years. That was kind of big. We’ve been traveling with that song for about a year and a half and were excited to share it with the masses. The second single, though, is something quite different. It involves the children’s choir from Uganda.

Rebekah: We actually hosted them at our home recently. It was such a gratifying, full-circle time of fellowship and togetherness. Since 2009, we have been donating instruments, running worship camps and bringing various creatives with us to countries like Uganda, the Philippines and Malaysia.

CCM: The song that the children sang on, “Never Alone,” was produced in partnership with a child care ministry in Uganda, called Watoto. How did you connect with them?
Brad:
We connected with Watoto eight years ago on our first trip to Uganda. Since then, it’s been a huge piece of what we’ve done. From visiting and supporting them through our fundraising efforts, to actually coming and bringing creative teaching teams with us, I would never change our involvement with them, ever. We love it.
