There’s something very compelling about the melodies and message of Hannah Kerr, a draw that feels akin to Brooke Fraser mixed with Laura Story, command with authenticity. Typically a debut offers hints of the potential yet to be fulfilled, but Kerr, who co-wrote many of the songs on her full-length debut, Overflow (buy), sounds every bit the veteran here. Her hope-filled lyrics fit perfectly inside radio-ready anthems for an often moving and always interesting final mix. “Radiate” and “Never Leave Your Side” should be instant favorites, but other notable tracks include “I Stand Here” and “Be Still and Know” which features Casting Crowns’ singer Mark Hall.
