Chris Quilala – ‘Split The Sky’ album review 4 Overall Score Label:Jesus Culture Music For Fans Of:Jesus Culture, Hillsong Young & Free We Like:“Because Of Your Love” Chris Quilala – ‘Split The Sky’ album review Matt Conner November 30, 2016 click to buy The first solo release from Jesus Culture’s Chris Quilala is steeped in the synth pop of his generation, with bleeps and blips and synthetic swirls that surround familiar vertical refrains. Fans of Elliot Moss or Active Child will appreciate the largely chill pop here, and songs like “Because Of Your Love” and “Heart’s Cry” work best in this atmosphere. Worship fans in general might be wise to note the sonic curve Quilala throws on this one, since it’s not as straightforward as a Jesus Culture release, but it’s well past time for a nuanced, layered release like this. Kudos to Quilala for delivering it. > SAMPLE ALBUM on AmazonMP3.com One Response Polly Cambron December 20, 2016 Wonderful album, very soulful and resonates with all listeners.
