The Story Behind the Song:
Andrea’s latest single, “Good Shepherd,” from her album, This Good, is a journey through Psalm 23, and parallels her own lifelong faith journey. Producer Chris Clayton, friend Meredith Andrews, and Andrea penned this song together after a conversation about God’s goodness through trials.

“The more life I live, the more I realize the necessity of staying connected to my Savior. When I’m tethered to Him, life can throw me into spirals, but I’m secured to Him and I know His goodness and mercy follows me all the days of my life.” —Andrea Olson

LYRICS
Verse 1
There is a calm inside your whisper
My heart can recognize your voice
The way you speak to me is tender
Your presence is my deepest joy

Chorus
My closest friend, my confidence
The safest shelter I can run to
And though I fail, You never will
So I’ll stay tethered to my Good Shepherd

Verse 2
Your goodness follows me forever
Your mercy chases after me
So I don’t have to fear the future
Your presence is my perfect peace

Chorus
My closest friend, my confidence
The safest shelter I can run to
And though I fail, You never will
So I’ll stay tethered

Bridge
Anywhere You lead I will follow
Anywhere You call I will go
Cause I know who’s holding tomorrow
Yes I know
Yes I know
Anywhere You lead I will follow
Anywhere You call I will go
Cause I know who’s holding tomorrow
Yes I know
Yes I know

Chorus
My closest friend, my confidence
The safest shelter I can run to
And though I fail, You never will
So I’ll stay tethered to my Good Shepherd
I will stay tethered to my Good Shepherd
I will stay tethered to my Good Shepherd
