LOS ANGELES (January 19, 2023)
Rising pop artist Kevin Quinn released his anticipated new album Real Me today via Capitol CMG. The captivating 7-track record introduces Kevin in his most authentic, real form as he opens up about his mental health journey for the first time. With Real Me, Kevin further establishes his knack for deeply personal songwriting that strikes a unique balance between growth and vulnerability. Real Me is available now on various music sites including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and more.

“I did the kind of growing that most people don’t do in a lifetime. I felt very inspired in my mental health journey and had to make music about it,” said Kevin. “Writing these songs felt like therapy. That’s what art is for me. And if you do it right and share it with the world, hopefully people listening feel less alone.”

Kevin’s most recent singles, “Blessed” and “I’m Not There Yet,” gave fans a taste of the emotional range they can expect from his latest project. Ahead of the album release, Kevin made his television performance debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show with “Blessed,” an R&B-infused single celebrating life’s blessings, from friends and family to experiences and opportunities. Kevin’s second single “I’m Not There Yet” taps into his more vulnerable side as he stares down depression in a moment of acceptance and acute self-awareness.

The title track “Real Me” hinges on hypnotic keyboards and airy guitar as he trumpets a core message. “It’s meant to be a celebration of your most authentic self,” Kevin says. “It’s what I was trying to work towards on this whole project.” Gentle guitar, claps, and bold harmonies set the pace for “Learning to Let Go.” The stomping groove upholds the irresistible refrain, “But when things fall apart like a weight on my heart, the world will keep on turning, but I’ll never stop learning, learning to let go.” With “Rise Above,” Kevin leans on his faith as a source of strength in overcoming the struggles he faces, “But You show me Your grace is enough so I’ll rise above.” “Way Up” brings Kevin’s story full circle as he offers an open and optimistic glimpse into his mental health journey and notes “I’ve been down, now I’m way up, had to turn the page, it’s the only way to change.” The finale “Give You Up” layers Kevin’s emotionally charged vocals atop a drum ‘n’ bass rhythm. He once again speaks on his faith as he wonders, “How could I give you up?”

“By writing so openly about mental health, I can hopefully be a positive influence and even help change lives,” Kevin shares. “I hope other people feel comfortable as their most authentic selves. Real Me challenges you and says, ‘Don’t change a thing about who you are.’ Embrace all of it.”

Upon Kevin’s official music debut in 2021, PEOPLE Magazine named him one of their ‘Artists to Watch,’ American Songwriter noted his “powerful beginning” and E! News predicted that “his journey in the music industry [was] just getting started.” From screens to songs, his storytelling abilities are undeniable. He is excited to fully introduce himself on Real Me, available via Capitol CMG today.
