Louisville, KY (December 16, 2021)
Christian music pioneer, Larnelle Harris and his wife, Cynthia (Mitzy), will celebrate 50 years of marriage on December 19, 2021. A small friends and family celebration was held in their hometown of Louisville on December 3. The couple met at their alma mater, Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They have two grown children and three grandchildren.

In his #1 Amazon best-selling memoir, Shaped Notes: How Ordinary People with Extraordinary Gifts Influenced My Life and Career, Larnelle wrote about his marriage to Mitzy: “My parents were married 50 years and Mitzy’s missed 60 years by one month. We’ve all had arguments and problems and the typical issues every marriage deals with. I’m not saying we handled it better or are better. But we share a love of God, our children, our grandchildren, and an attitude of ‘We gotta work it out.’ We’re loving our lives together, and we’re loving our future together. It will be as the vows go: ‘Til death do us part.’ It’s been a good run, and we’re still on it.”
