Davenport shares, “‘The King’ is a victory song. Right out of the gate, we wanted to start from victory. I think too often Christians can look at the Cross and think that Jesus just barely eeked out a win, but the reality is that Jesus pummeled sin. He absolutely crushed the enemy. It was an onslaught and grace was the champion, so I wanted to write a song from that place of embracing the wonder of Jesus’ power, His life and resurrection, His authority, and His Kingdom still to come.”

With “Plead The Blood,” which Davenport recorded with Cody Carnes and Brandon Lake, the song is currently top 20 at Air1 Radio and steadily climbing weekly. Since its release, it’s had 1.6M global streams and the video has received more than 500K views on YouTube.

Chris Davenport has been a quiet, yet mighty fixture within the worship community for years, co-writing many of the genre’s biggest songs, including Phil Wickham‘s “Hymn Of Heaven,” “Too Good To Not Believe” by Brandon Lake, and Cody Carnes’ “Be Glad.” He also contributed to Hillsong Worship and UNITED songs “Another In The Fire,” “Grace To Grace,” and “Seasons.”

Established as a unique, authentic, influential voice and writer, Davenport is ready to release his own music and his 13-song debut Time.
