Christian singer, songwriter, and American Idol finalist Rachel Hale has released her new single ‘Rainbow.’

“I’m so excited to release ‘Rainbow‘ into the world, a song with a big vision to ignite people to pursue the dreams that make their hearts come alive and their true colors shine,” Rachel said.

Rachel said the inspiration for the song came from a journal entry written in 2015.

“Before sitting down to write, I prayed for a song that would inspire millions of people, and asked God ‘what do people need to hear?’ I then heard God say, ‘they need hope, point them to me,” Rachel said.

“Then the phrase ‘catch a rainbow’ popped into my head, and in one stream of thought I wrote, Can I catch a rocket over the rainbow? Can I find dreams of gold and happy endings? Where parents don’t grow old. Where lovers stay in love. Where hearts don’t get hurt. Where break isn’t a word because everything is whole. What if I, what if I could catch a rainbow? Hours later, the song was written.”

‘Rainbow’ was co-written with Vince Scheuerman and produced by Jonathan Crone, the same team behind Rachel’s popular 2021 single ‘Promised Land.’

Rachel has partnered with Destination Imagination for the song’s release, an organization that empowers young people to be innovative and creative through STEAM programs. Rachel will perform Rainbow live at Destination Imagination’s 2022 Global Finals at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 21.
Originally from Prescott, Arkansas, Rachel gained international recognition in 2013 as a Top 20 finalist in American Idol season 12.

Rachel joined multiple GRAMMY Award winner Cece Winan’s Nashville Life Church in 2012 where she led worship, as well as writing and performing on the Church’s debut album, Shine On Us. She co-wrote the hit song “Firm Foundation,” which became the title track for the album recorded by gospel trio Selah that went on to win Inspirational Album Of The Year at the 51st Dove Awards.

Rachel has shared the stage with music legends Peter Frampton and Ricky Skaggs, and opened for stars including Tracy Byrd, Joe Nichols, Joe Diffie and Chris Cagle.

She is currently based in Redding, California.
