It’s a powerful album musically but it’s also powerful lyrically. It’s also simplistic. It’s not a real deep album, like you have to sit and dissect every lyric to uncover what we’re trying to say.

CCM: What else is on the horizon as you look ahead in 2018?
MS: We have quite an extensive tour throughout 2018 with Stryper. We have an acoustic album we’re finishing up that we’ll release at the end of the year. We’re working on a new documentary coming together over the next two years. We can’t wait for people to see that, because it has footage never before seen and it interviews people whose lives have been turned around through this ministry. We’re also already planning for the next album.

I’m just kind of on fire right now and I feel like God’s given me these ideas and opportunities. I just want to keep walking through those doors until I can’t do it anymore, and hopefully that won’t be for another twenty years, at least.
