“I hope you’re encouraged no matter where you find yourself when you hear this song,” Tomlin said. “Know that Jesus is with you, he is for you and he loves you.”

Tomlin recently asked the public to be a part of the upcoming music video for “Jesus,” and invited people to submit photos or videos sharing their personal stories of praises or prayers.

“We’ve been receiving so many stories from all over the country and all over the world about people who are going through the hardest times or going through the best times and how Jesus has been right there,” Tomlin continued. “They’re reaching out to Jesus in the low days and the high days as well.”

“Jesus” will appear on a brand new studio album, set to release this fall.

This year’s Worship Night In America events are currently underway, once again uniting people across the country for a time to worship and pray for the nation, following last year’s sold-out inaugural events. Already making stops in Los Angeles and Denver, the events will soon hit Chicago and Miami, wrapping in New York City July 23. This year features new and returning speakers and artists, including Louie Giglio, Max Lucado, Matt Redman, Matt Maher, Phil Wickham, Kim Walker-Smith, Bryan & Katie Torwalt, Steven Curtis Chapman, Tasha Cobbs and DJ Promote.

Tomlin was recently honored as Songwriter of the Year along with Matt Maher at the BMI Christian Music Awards, an annual event saluting the songwriters and publishers of the past year’s most performed Christian rock, contemporary Christian, inspirational, southern and urban gospel songs on U.S. Christian radio. Additionally, Tomlin’s songwriting was recognized with three Award Winning songs for “At The Cross (Love Ran Red),” “Jesus Loves Me,” and Matt Maher’s “Because He Lives (Amen).”

This year’s awards follow honors in 2014 for Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year with “Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)” as well as the Most-Played Song award for “I Lift My Hands” in 2012.
