CCM Staff & Contributors Pick Our Favorite Songs of 2018!

From personal declarations of hope and strength to new congregational classics for worship, the last 12 months yielded numerous songs that will remain in our hearts and playlists for quite some time. This year we polled our staff and writers at CCM for their opinions on the year’s top songs. Here’s how the list shook out after compiling the results.

Provident Music Group Roster Wins Combined 16 Dove Awards

The Provident Music Group family of artists, labels, songwriters and publishers are pleased to announce they received a total of 16 GMA Dove Award wins at the 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Held Tuesday, October 16 in Nashville, TN at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena, the awards will air on TBN this coming Sunday, October 21.

Tauren Wells Wins 4 Dove Awards

Tauren Wells dominated the 49th annual Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards winning four of his eight nominations. Wells picked up four awards for Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year.

Tauren Wells, Zach Williams & Cory Asbury Big Winners at 2018 Dove Awards

The 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards were handed out tonight in the Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. The awards will be televised on TBN Sunday, Oct 21. The big winner was first-time nominee, newcomer Tauren Wells, who took home four awards, including Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year and New Artist of The Year.

Tauren Wells — Learning How to Rest

One year ago, he was singing in arenas as the opening act for Lionel Richie and Mariah Carey’s co-headlining tour. Since then he’s earned multiple Grammy nominations, topped the charts with his own songs as well as a collaboration with Crowder, hit the road again with Chris Tomlin and penned his first song for a film, Canal Street, which opens in September.
