Singer/actress Tamela Mann is one of the most versatile voices and all around entertainers of the last two decades, so it’s no surprise One Way (buy) bursts with vocal variety a wide swath of musical arrangements. Whether it’s the guitar and horn-stacked title track, the tender ballad “God Provides” (written and produced by Kirk Franklin) or the simmering groove of “Through It All” (produced by mainstream heavyweight Timbaland), this longtime Franklin/Tyler Perry collaborator comes across as inspired and relevant. Lyrically speaking, the new collection celebrates both God’s glory and His love for all of creation, which is overtly apparent no matter if the tone is directed towards the dance floor or a more contemplative moment of prayer.
