FOR FANS OF: Josh Wilson, Burlap to Cashmere, Matt Maher
Rating: 3 Stars

With songs borne out of his difficult upbringing in Chicago, Jesse Santoyo brings a fiery vocal and a decidedly Latin flair to his debut album. His songwriting is a bit lightweight in places, but he shows his potential on the deeper, “Hope Street.” He brings to mind older work from Burlap To Cashmere, and is a welcome fresh sound to the current market.
