Passion ‘Follow You Anywhere’ Review

Passion
Follow You Anywhere
(sixstepsrecords)

Recorded live at Passion City Church in Atlanta, Passion’s latest effort, Follow You Anywhere, finds the worship collective at its finest, delivering songs that encourage the global church and exemplify the credo of seeking God’s renown and glory. Helmed by the Passion core of Kristian Stanfill, Brett Younker, and Melodie Malone alongside guest spots from Crowder and Sean Curran, the album is easily one of Passion’s best in the past several years.

Those in search of highlights need look no further than the title track, Stanfill’s delivery earnest and energetic throughout the bright declaration of praise while Malone’s “Fade Away” ripples with a powerful tension as she seeks God alone on the anthemic track. Younker’s “Lift Up Jesus” recalls Passion alum Chris Tomlin as Curran delivers another home run with “Bigger Than I Thought,” his emotions informing every note. And as always, Crowder shines, this time most notably with album closer “Yet Will I Praise You” which is bound to be sung in congregations worldwide.

With the current community of Passion worshippers standing on confident ground, Follow You Anywhere is a standout entry in a very impressive catalog.
