The second holiday album from Matthew West, Unto Us: A Christmas Collection (buy), features five new songs from the four-time GRAMMY winner. The album also features five Yuletide favorites, including a memorably jazzy “Jingle Bells,” but the value here is definitely the brand new songs. The title track is a worshipful anthem that opens the set, while “The Heart of Christmas” is a warm, positive song that reminds the listener to cherish every moment. “Join The Angels” is a spirited sing-along that will be a favorite for many with its slight gospel flavor in the midst of an otherwise slow-to-mid-tempo set of songs.
