Laura Story – ‘God With Us’ album review

She’s won a GRAMMY and multiple Doves, penned some of the contemporary church’s most meaningful praise songs and is also an accomplished author, but up until now, Laura Story has yet to release a Christmas collection. Nonetheless, the singer/songwriter/worship leader with a heaven-sent voice dives right in like she’s been singing seasonal standards such as “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Angels We Have Heard On High” and “Silent Night” all her life. Naturally, the project is also packed with its fair share of thought-provoking originals (most notably “Love Is Here”), alongside guest artists Steven Curtis Chapman and Brandon Heath, both of whom further enhance this beautiful, sometimes grand batch of timeless pop swaddled in a charming seasonal glow.
