Amy Grant: ‘Be Still And Know…Hymns & Faith’ album review

Having grown up singing hymns in church and at home, it’s understandable why Amy Grant is still attracted to those timeless treasures today. On Be Still And Know…Hymns & Faith, Grant cherry picks her favorites from previous projects Legacy…Hymns & Faith and Rock of Ages…Hymns & Faith, along with two new tunes. Previously released highlights include a pared down rendition of “El Shaddai,” a seamless medley of “What A Friend We Have In Jesus/Old Rugged Cross/How Great Thou Art” and “Rock Of Ages” (a duet with country star Vince Gill). Speaking of her hubby, he produced the earthy additions “Power In The Blood” and “Be Still And Know” with Grant continuing in her soft-spoken yet moving interpretative tradition.
