Pieces of heaven

Next month, on October 11, 2016 to be exact, the Gospel Music Association will celebrate its 47^th Dove Awards to recognize the best in this wonderful, little family we call gospel music. Check out the official trailer by clicking the “play” button above.

I find myself struck by this year’s theme, Love. Amplified. Three words from the narrative in the video particularly stick out to me.

Together. …alone they are just the pieces—one song, one verse, one rap, one rhyme—but together, oh man, together it’s a whole other story. In Matthew 18:20 Jesus says, For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them (NKJV). When we’re together, He’s there, and He’s taking our pieces and doing something big.
