The Thursday Night Club, a film based on the successful audio drama podcast series and novella written by bestselling author Steven Manchester, featuring two-time Grammy award winner Gloria Gaynor, has been picked up by the worldwide leader in faith and family streaming content, Pure Flix. Ms. Gaynor makes her movie acting debut, playing the role of a doctor who oversees a bone marrow recipient.

This inspirational film tells the story of a group of college best friends, who, in the face of tragedy, embark on a series of charitable Christmas projects to help improve the lives of others.

The storyline resonated with internationally renowned performer Gloria Gaynor, whose anthem “I Will Survive” has provided comfort and encouragement for millions around the world since its debut on the charts in 1978. Speaking about the spirit behind the story, the pop icon stated, “the number one thing that people should remember is to ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’” Most recently, Ms. Gaynor made a mark in the Gospel world, winning her second GRAMMY Award in 2020 for Best Roots Gospel Album.

The team behind Thursday Night Club (Executive Producers Monty Hobbs, Lou, Aronica, Valerie Smaldone, and Producer Matthieu Chazareix) of The Story Plant Entertainment Company believe that they have a mission that extends beyond entertainment. “This is a film about caring for each other and improving the world one relationship at a time,” said Lou Aronica, who co-authored the screenplay with Manchester. “Frankly, we’re hoping that the message of this movie is contagious.”
