Based in central Maryland, Five Smooth Stones released their sophomore project, Beneath The Finite Sky, midway through 2011. A recent review of the new album on jesusfreakhideout.com compared Five Smooth Stones’ sound to such diverse acts as Audio Adrenaline, Goo Goo Dolls and As Cities Burn, as well as calling out their southern rock/jam band influences.
Five Smooth Stones have been playing their engaging live show around the Mid-Atlantic region for the last five years, from intimate venues including coffee houses and churches to regional festivals and popular music venues. 2012 tour plans include visits to the central, northeast and southeast states.
While the four band members (who are also blood relatives) truly enjoy playing live and writing and recording, they realize there is much work to be done in the kingdom of Jesus Christ. Desiring to set an example for their friends and fans, Five Smooth Stones visits in local nursing homes and hospitals and regularly serves in an urban Baltimore soup kitchen. The group is also excited to have recently been able to sponsor their first child, a boy named Benjamin, from Rwanda, through Food For The Hungry.
