Nashville, TN (October 17, 2018)
Matthew West took home his first GMA Dove Award for Songwriter of the Year (Artist) at the 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards Tuesday night at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. The prestigious accolade comes on the heels of the ASCAP Christian Awards, where West was honored for his No.1 hit song “Broken Things,” which he later performed that evening. A tenured songwriter, West has over 100 songwriting credits to his name for artists in multiple genres.

The GRAMMY® Nominee also released a three-track single for “Mercy Is A Song” this past Friday. Featuring the original studio recording found on West’s chart-topping album All In, the three-track single also includes an intimate acoustic version of the song, along with a special live performance recording featuring Jordan Feliz. The pair also released a video of the song three months prior, which has already garnered over 141 thousand views since its release.

“This song is a reminder that going all in isn’t always about what we do, but it’s about what’s been done for us. Sometimes it’s hard to let it really sink in just how much God has done for us, how much He loves us, and how free we really are,” said West. “I’m glad to be giving this song its own spotlight.”

Following The Answer/All In Tour, a 20 city co-headlining fall tour with Jeremy Camp, West will be headlining Compassion LIVE’s The Roadshow Christmas Tour. Joining West on the first-ever The Roadshow Christmas Tour are Matt Maher, Building 429, Plumb, Josh Wilson and Leanna Crawford, visiting arenas in November and December.
