Four-time GRAMMY award-winning Christian music duo and platinum-selling artist for KING & COUNTRY recently took home three trophies at the 52nd Annual GMA Dove AwardsArtist of the Year, Longform Video of the Year for Burn The Ships Concert Film and Christmas/Special Event of the Year for A Drummer Boy Christmas. This year’s wins bring Joel and Luke Smallbone’s grand total to 10 Dove Awards, including their second Artist of the Year win in as many years.

“One of the personal trials I experienced over the last year was going through vocal surgery,” Luke Smallbone told the crow upon accepting the award with Joel by his side. “Under doctor’s orders, I was told to stay silent for 5 days following the procedure. During that time of reflection and prayer, questions started to arise in my mind—’What if things don’t go as planned?’ ‘What if I can’t share my voice anymore?’ ‘Who am I without our music?’ Today, I stand here more confident than ever that God, along with the power of music, not only gives life to a vocal cord but can change eternal destinations for so many people. Don’t forget that.”

The No. 1 hitmakers recently announced the upcoming arrival of their brand-new album What Are We Waiting For? out on Friday March 11th. What Are We Waiting For? is for KING & COUNTRY’s fourth studio album and first album of new music since 2018’s RIAA Gold certified Burn The Ships. Fans can expect a return to the lush and evocative pop sounds the duo has perfected over the years, while Joel and Luke take pen to paper and confront relevant issues with poise, grace, and groove.
