Do you hear that? It’s the sound of every CCM fans heartbeat at the announcement of Amy Grant releasing brand new music! After more than a decade without a full collection of new original material, Amy Grant is returning with The Me That Remains, a ten-song project arriving May 8 via Thirty Tigers.

Produced by ten-time CMA Award winner, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer, and legendary member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, Mac McAnally, the album marks Grant’s first all-original release in 13 years and signals a reflective, stripped-down season for one of Christian music’s most enduring voices.

Leaning into her strengths as a songwriter, The Me That Remains offers a look at where Grant stands today, personally, spiritually, and creatively. Across its ten tracks, she reflects on healing, connection, endurance, and grace, shaped by more than five decades in a groundbreaking career that helped define Contemporary Christian Music.

Fans shouldn’t expect a return to the 80s/90s pop Grant, however with McAnally on board this may be feel closer to a throwback even further to something more akin to Age to Age. The understated production leaves space for Grant’s voice, warm and steady, to carry the emotional weight.

The title track, “The Me That Remains,” co-written with McAnally was also just released and deals with the significant health challenges Grant has faced in recent years, including open heart surgery and a traumatic brain injury following a bike accident. Lyrics such as, “Life cut me wide open / When my head hit the ground / Wasn’t my time for dying / Guess my soul just stuck around,” reveal both vulnerability and resolve. The chorus turns toward gratitude: “My smile in the mirror is enough for today / Reflecting the light deep down inside that never will fade.”

The official music video for the song was filmed on Grant’s Tennessee farm, grounding the project in the place she calls home.

Visually, the album artwork mirrors the record’s themes of memory and reconstruction. Grant commissioned artist Wayne Brezinka to create a mixed-media collage using meaningful fragments from her own life, including pieces of a treasured quilt, seashells from her collection, her childhood Bible, and an article about her grandfather. The result is a portrait layered with history, both literal and symbolic.

“The older I get, the more aware I am that we all live long enough to see versions of ourselves pass away,” Grant shares. “Given time to process decades of a life, one that was both exciting and difficult, I’ve needed to remember and release the younger Amy Grant. There are fewer bells and whistles around this deeper work now, but life’s discoveries and mysteries are even more compelling to me. I’m thankful for each day and curious to find connection and purpose, and how the Love that made us all will emerge and express itself in and through me today.”

To celebrate the release, Grant will perform an album release show at Ryman Auditorium on May 8. Tickets go on sale February 27.

The Me That Remains will be available on vinyl, CD, and across streaming platforms, with special editions including orange vinyl for indie record stores, turquoise vinyl via Talk Shop Live, and an exclusive CD edition with bonus tracks through Amazon.
