David Leonard (formerly of All Sons & Daughters and NEEDTOBREATHE) released his solo debut, The Wait, earlier this year to much praise from fans and critics. On August 30th, Leonard will release The Wait: Silence The Noise, a collection of The Wait songs newly recorded live, where the lyrics become the focus. The first song, “Know Your Heart,” is available everywhere now.

“Know Your Heart” Lyric:
When You call my name
I wanna know it’s You
I wanna know it’s You

Help me recognize it
I wanna know it’s You
I wanna know it’s You

Silence the noise with Your voice
Your words, Your truth
Speak directly to me
I’m listening

I just wanna know Your heart
I just wanna know Your heart
I just wanna know Your heart
Better than I’ve ever known anything
Your heart
I just wanna know Your heart
I just wanna know Your heart
Better than I’ve ever known anything

So don’t hesitate
Make it loud and clear
Make it loud and clear

Do whatever it takes
To let me know You’re here
To let me know You’re here

“When I set out to make The Wait, I didn’t want to have any rules. I wanted to be able to make a record that I felt was creative and push the boundaries. The tough part about that is songs sometimes get lost in production,” Leonard says.

With a strong desire to see people connect with the heart of these songs, Silence The Noise came about. This live record allows songs like “Share This Burden” to take on a complete transformation getting down to the heart of the lyric.

“There have been so many times in the past couple of months where I’ve done interviews and people have asked me why I have stepped away from the corporate worship thing,” Leonard explains. “To me, this is corporate worship. We’re just creating a new sound for it. So the hope with this project is that we allow people to see the songs for what they are; which are worship songs.”

This project was produced by David Leonard, Seth Talley and Brad King, who make up The Creak Music, a production team and independent label based in Franklin, Tennessee. This fall, Leonard will be bringing the stories and songs from these projects on the Silence The Noise Tour.
