The uplifting multi-track features three songs with Anne serving as a co-writer on all of the songs. A corresponding music video for the title track, “My Jesus” has also been released as well as a lyric video for “Devil.” “I couldn’t be more excited for the world to hear these songs,” Anne said. “Each of the three songs mean so much to me and my journey with the Lord. I can’t wait to see what God does through these songs!” From start to finish, this powerful collection of songs captures Anne’s unwavering faith. The title track, “My Jesus,” is an anthemic piece exploring the depth of her relationship and trust in God, and the song will be Anne’s official radio debut. Her expansive vocal range and multi-genre influences are showcased throughout the entirety of “Devil.” The final track, “Something About That Name,” highlights Anne’s smoky vocals and her intuitive songwriting. In 2017, following the tragic loss of her brother in a car accident, Anne shared a video performance on YouTube performing Hillsong‘s “What A Beautiful Name” in honor of her beloved brother. The video was passed on to a friend of a friend, who happened to be an artist manager. Intrigued by Wilson’s mesmerizing voice and visible hunger for Jesus, the manager contacted Anne six months later, and she soon after landed a deal with Capitol Christian Music Group. Before the release of any music, Anne has already garnered over 62k followers on TikTok and 21k followers on Instagram. The lyrics of Hillsong Worship’s “What A Beautiful Name” became a lifeline for the Lexington, Kentucky native after her brother was tragically killed in a car accident at the age of 23. Although she spent much of her childhood behind a piano, Wilson sang in front of an audience for the first time at her brother’s funeral. It was in that moment that she realized what she was born to do. A video of her moving performance organically circulated, eventually landing her a record deal. With a mesmerizing voice and a visible hunger for Jesus, the 19-year-old relies on personal journal entries and time spent in nature for songwriting inspiration. Her rootsy sound reflects her strong southern upbringing and her admiration for country royalty like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton married with the heart-on-your-sleeve transparency of Steffany Gretzinger and Lauren Daigle. Wilson’s introductory track, “My Jesus”—which she co-wrote with Jeff Pardo and Matthew West—is a warm invitation to experience her Savior in the same intimate way she knows Him. She’s currently working on a debut three-track single—also titled My Jesus—for Capitol Christian Music Group. ‘My Jesus’ Lyrics: Are you past the point of weary Is your burden weighing heavy Is it all too much to carry Let me tell you ‘bout my Jesus Do you feel that empty feeling ‘Cause shame’s done all its stealing And you’re desperate for some healing Let me tell you ‘bout my Jesus He makes a way where there ain’t no way Rises up from an empty grave Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save Let me tell you ‘bout my Jesus His love is strong and His grace is free And the good news is I know that He Can do for you what He’s done for me Let me tell you ‘bout my Jesus And let my Jesus change your life Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, amen, amen Who can wipe away the tears From broken dreams and wasted years And tell the past to disappear Let me tell you ‘bout my Jesus And all the wrong turns that you would Go and undo if you could Who can work it all for your good Let me tell you about my Jesus Who would take my cross to Calvary Pay the price for all my guilty Who would care that much about me Let me tell you ‘bout my Jesus Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
