Cynthia: “Whom Have I But You” It best describes my longing and desires for Him.

Cynthia: Music has been my career for my entire adult life, whether in teaching or performing. Now, the Lord is taking me to a path with a slightly different approach.

Cynthia: It is my hope and prayer that the Lord will use this album to touch and encourage the weary hearts and to inspire people to love and pursue His holiness with all they have.

CCM: What was the last book you read?
Cynthia: Prayer: Experiencing Awe and Intimacy with God by Tim Keller

CCM: How important is your faith or spirituality within your music?
Cynthia: Jesus says that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us. He is the true vine, and I am just one branch. I have to live in Him to have life first and then will be able to produce music as a vessel to be used for His honor and glory.

CCM: What message do you hope listeners will take away from your music, regardless of what they believe?
Cynthia: As human beings, regardless of our heritage and background, we all struggle with the questions of identity, acceptance, finding true love, and having a meaningful life. We all have to deal with the sins of ourselves and the others, no matter if we want to admit it or not. The God who has loved me is the same God who has longed to have a personal relationship with every human being whom He created. I have experienced and tasted His love and desire to let people know that God’s love to them is so strong as to the point of death. There is no other in the world who would give us this kind of love we are craving for. He has been waiting for people to draw from His love so they can find answers for their identity, acceptance, and satisfaction for their heart and soul.

Cynthia’s new album, Whom Have I But You, releases April 17, 2020.

“As a deer pants for the water, my soul thirsts for the presence of my Savior. Psalm 73:25-26 describes that profound longing in my heart. ‘Whom Have I But You’was born out of that desire. ‘Set Me as a Seal’ tells the Lord’s love for me is as strong as death. And it inspires me to love ‘My Jesus’ back in obedience. The ups and downs of my journey for sanctification have taught me to acknowledge that I need Jesus and to proclaim His name in faith. ‘Jesus, I Need You,’ ‘Believe,’ and “Your Name” represent that daily need. ‘Miriam’s Dance’ is my victory song. ‘Only You,’ the Lord Jesus who satisfies my soul, is worthy of all praise, honor, and glory. It is my prayer that this album will inspire you to love the Lord and to pursue His holiness with all you have.” —Cynthia Knight
