John Tesh’s A DEEPER FAITH is BACK!

Six-time Emmy winner and two-time Grammy nominee John Tesh brings his Christian music career back to the forefront with the reissue of A Deeper Faith Volumes I & II: The Ultimate Worship Collection—a sweeping 34-song set that returns a beloved catalog of worship music to listeners old and new. Available now, the collection marks the first-ever digital release of A Deeper Faith I (2002), paired with its 2003 sequel. The albums blend Tesh’s signature piano arrangements with heartfelt scripture narrations and soaring performances from Grammy-nominated vocalists Natalie Grant and Nicole C. Mullen. Together, they form what Tesh calls “a moving journey of reflection, encouragement, and spiritual renewal.” But for Tesh, this re-release is a return to a foundational part of his own faith story.

While the name John Tesh may evoke Entertainment Tonight, the iconic NBA-on-NBC theme “Roundball Rock,” or Jason Sudeikis and Tim Robinson in matching vests on SNL, the truth is that worship has been woven into his life and music for decades. In our conversation, he shared, “I used to be the worship leader at a Messianic church…” Week after week, he led worship in Sherman Oaks, bringing together Jewish and Gentile believers in songs of praise. He recalls the sound of those gatherings vividly. “We played… ‘Above All,’ ‘God of Wonders,’ ‘Shout to the Lord,’ ‘Awesome God,’ all that stuff… I love those songs.”

And though his career took him around the world—from network television to concert stages—the pull of worship never faded. When we spoke with John in the fall he was already teasing the return of A Deeper Faith. Tesh lit up with the enthusiasm when I brought it up.  “It actually got out of print somehow. We’re going to bring it back… it’s called A Deeper Faith, and it’s all those old songs.”

Those songs, beloved in churches in the early 2000s, include favorites like:

• “You’re Worthy of My Praise” (feat. Nicole C. Mullen)
• “I Am Not Alone” (feat. Natalie Grant)
• “The Heart of Worship”
• “God Is My Rock”

Tesh’s hope is that this music meets people the way it once met him. It was during seasons of searching, healing, and spiritual renewal.

“At the end of a show, we’d have 100 people at the foot of the stage saying, ‘Can you tell me again what Mark 11:23 is?’” he shares. “It was an understanding that if I tell my story, then I’m going to be able to open doors…”  Tesh has also been encouraged by the unexpected rise of worship in mainstream spaces.

“I watched the Today Show… and Elevation Worship was on doing worship songs… all of these worship songs are climbing the secular charts.”  For a man who has spent his life crossing genres, mediums, and audiences, this renewed cultural openness feels both affirming and timely.

“I love it,” he says of worship’s mainstream visibility. “People are really leaning into those songs.”
