Roots For The Journey (Elevate Entertainment)
by Yancy

FOR FANS OF: Sara Groves, Leigh Nash, Norah Jones
Rating: 4 Stars

She may have found recent recognition in the children’s music marketplace, but Yancy returns to her more adult-minded praise and worship roots. The results find her taking an unplugged, contemplative approach to mostly originals and a few covers spun in a welcoming and authentic style, backed by several all-star players (including cello contributions from Sixpence None the Richer’s Matt Slocum).
