From the chugging riffs of “Artificial Light” to the slower melodic yield of “I Will Fail You,” Demon Hunter’s eighth album, Extremist, is a driving, diverse set that their passionate fan base will undoubtedly appreciate. “The Last One Alive” is the midtempo highlight that shows off the band’s technical expertise and accessible chops. Solid State should have a major hit here.
