Casting Crowns: ‘Glorious Day: Hymns of Faith’ album review

The re-working of old hymns in contemporary fashions may seem overdone, but Casting Crowns truly brings something new with this Cracker Barrel exclusive, Glorious Day: Hymns of Faith. Not only does the band showcase a variety of some of their biggest hits (“If We Are the Body,” “Praise You in the Storm”), it also performs strong, contemporary versions of hymns that don’t compromise their beauty and timelessness. One more obscure offering, “Beulah Land” holds special significance for frontman Mark Hall, and is one of the best songs on the record. The simple, subtle movements crafted under each hymn keep it fresh, relevant, and perfect.
