Fans of Ellie Holcomb will find a lot to like about the tender delivery and hopeful message of Melanie Penn. Her latest album, Hope Tonight, features the same producer (Ben Shive) and similarly inventive melodies, from the delightful “Turnaround” to the moving title track. This follow-up to her debut, Wake Up Love, was a long time coming; but it was definitely worth the wait.
