Phil Wickham has already proven he is a masterful songwriter, and gifted worship leader. The Ascension is no different. He soars vocally on the title track, and also tones down his vibrato for a gorgeous hymn-style song, “When My Heart Is Torn Asunder.” His only misstep is on “Wonderful,” which feels a bit obligatory.
