The Story Behind the Song “Intercede”
“I think we’ve all been there, where you find yourself in dire need to pray, but words are few. I’m still writing in a place where I’ve been battling my flesh, and focusing my mind on the Spirit. It’s my sinful struggle, but each day there is new joy, light, and forgiveness.

This past year in Bible Study, I poured my heart and thoughts to the ladies in my group. They listened with wisdom and someone pointed me to Romans 8:26-27 — “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groaning too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” It was an intercession for me and became a song that I repeatedly sang to myself.
