Review: So I Can TellLou Carlozo August 19, 2013 So I Can Tell by Cheri Keaggy Keaggy delights with a voice blending countrified grit and sweetness. Fans will find much to love here. The title track’s piano-and-organ blend suggests a mix between Marc Cohn and Bonnie Raitt. “When You Were Jesus to Me” is a song of comfort for the heartbroken. Keaggy sings of sitting “slumped in my chair” at a church service, but finding solace in friends who witness compassion and empathy. When Keaggy sings, “You showed me love/ Jesus is love,” her earnest conviction equates to a shaft of light slicing the darkness. The bouncy “Air Food and Water” celebrates the simple domestic joys of “a house, a dog and a lovely daughter.” —Lou Carlozo Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
