Seventh Day Slumber – ‘Redline’ album review

Seventh Day Slumber, CCM Magazine - imageThough the last several releases have volleyed between rock and more worship-minded material, Seventh Day Slumber’s Redline EP tips the scales back towards an intentionally aggressive tone. But just because “Bring It On” and many of the other alternative tunes are jock jams in the making doesn’t mean the group is any less committed to ministry. In fact, the scorching “I’ll Bleed” screams of being on fire for Christ in the face of temptation, while the crunching monster ballad “Lost In The Lights” speaks of not succumbing to worldly distraction. As a bonus, fans of ‘90s grunge are sure to smile with a killer cover of Temple Of The Dog’s social justice-framed “Hunger Strike,” which falls right in stylistic step with this joyfully frenetic return to form.
