Christian rockers Embers in Ashes create heavy but family-friendly music on Killers & Thieves. Flirting with electronics with a solid metal attack (lots of double-bass), they’re like P.O.D. with a keyboard. The processed vocals frequently lack a visceral kick; but the band sounds earnest, talented and maybe a vocalist away from becoming a major Christian rock contender.
