FRANKLIN, Tenn.—Third Day has returned to their deep musical roots with the release of their new single “Revival.” To watch the official lyric video on this page, please click the “play” button above.

In the creation of “Revival,” Third Day teamed up with producer and friend Monroe Jones, producer of such Third Day classics as 1999’s Time (buy), 2000’s Offerings: A Worship Album, 2001’s Come Together (buy), among others.

The song, written by Mac Powell, was inspired by “Revival Week,” an annual event held by Powell’s childhood church in central Alabama.

“Revival Week required me to do some soul searching and ask myself, ‘Am I really at a place where I’m willing to surrender to what God would ask and have of me?'” Powell exclaims, “Brothers and sisters, He wants so much more than just a revival week for us, but for every single day of our lives to be one in which we surrender to seek His wisdom and guidance through the Word of God, and celebrate the abundant life and joy that only He can bring. Let’s join together and hope and pray that God would see fit to bring about in every single one of us, revival.”

The official lyric video for “Revival” also debuts today, which features footage of the band recording the song at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where such artists as Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding have recorded.
