Lionsgate/Summit’s faith-based movie The Shack based on the bestselling William P. Young novel (buy) had a three-day opening weekend at $16.1M (coming in third place for premieres). That’s the best for the faith-based genre in some time beating the first weekends  of War Room ($11.4M), Risen ($11.8M), and last year’s sleeper Miracles From Heaven ($14.8M).
