Words That Fell (Independent)
by Michelle Lynn Thompson

FOR FANS OF: Julie Lee, Over the Rhine, Sarah Masen
Rating: 4 Stars

Having sung in the Chicagobased roots band The Wayside for two decades, Thompson enlists co-writes with Nashville songwriters Julie Lee and Kate York, plus producer Kenny Hutson (Over the Rhine), to explore Americana’s multi-faceted landscape on her debut EP. Infused with traditional country instrumentation—pedal steel, mandolin, accordion— Words’ old-time balladry and Country-ready cuts house simple but poignant verses in a songwriter’s paradise.
