Morgan + Jamgochian: ‘Christmastime’ album review

This inspiring EP offers four Christmas classics (“Angels We Have Heard On High,” a smart mash-up of “Little Drummer Boy” and “O Come Emanuel,” “Away In A Manger,” and “12 Days Of Christmas”) and two stellar originals penned by Tyrus Morgan (hit writer for Unspoken, Newsong among others) and vocal mainstay Jamie Jamgochian. The lead single, “Christmastime,” is a fun toe tapping, fire-crackling new Christmas favorite exclaiming, Christmastime, a time for joy / Gather ‘round, lift up your voice! Production and vocal performances are near flawless, encouraging sing-alongs or dance parties, opposed to serving as just another holiday music sampler. A new lyrical rendition of “12 Days Of Christmas” is anchored in the line, O how I want to sing / Of the Savior who set us free.
