Danen Kane: ‘Flesh and Soul’ album review

There’s a sense when listening to the new album from Danen Kane that you wish the acoustic singer-songwriter had his own band. The vocalist is clearly talented, and the arrangements are always interesting. The songs are varied, powerful and filled with Danen’s obvious charisma. Yet they are also one or two more layers away from being very good. Nevertheless, it’s impossible not to be drawn in by Danen’s dynamism and talent. Check out “The Song That Set Us Free” or the sweet groove of “When Our Time Here Is Over.”
