John 20:29 “Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me,
you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’”
When Horton heard a Who, his life was changed forever. Granted, he couldn’t see
the Whos, he couldn’t touch the Whos, in fact the only evidence he had that
they existed as a little voice that only he could hear. Yet, he believed the
Whos were there and it changed his life. He found purpose for his life, he
found meaning for his existence, and he found that he had something important
to do. Jesus promised similar things for us when we b
elieve in Him. Last
weekend, we celebrated the fact that He’s still alive; do you really
believe that? Do really believe that Jesus rose from the dead and that the
grave is empty? We have a lot more evidence for that than Horton had for the
existence of the Whos. I encourage you this week to really meditate on the fact
that Jesus is alive, and as you do, I think you’ll find that it will change
your life in big and small ways. Jesus promised those who believed he was alive
without seeing him would be blessed, which sounds like good news to me.
