And swiftly, as God moved His hand, Brooke started receiving multiple offers from labels as she finished high school—and all without any effort from Fraser.
While traveling for her solo career, she made a few visits to Hillsong Church in Australia. Encouraged and befriended by the church community, Fraser eventually moved to Australia, began attending church at Hillsong and later joined Hillsong United.
“The thing that I love about [Hillsong] United is that it’s not a band at all… It’s really a reflection of what’s going [on] at church. United is really just a community…to build young people,” she says.
Touring full-time with two music ministries, Fraser invests much time building God’s Kingdom and loving her neighbor (or neighbour, as the Aussie’s spell it).
As an encouragement to those wanting to help her change the world, Fraser says, “For those of us who aren’t in a position to change foreign aid policy or sink a few billion into charitable organizations, there is plenty to do still. You can sponsor a child; you can pray for change in corrupt governments, for the protection of those thousands of aid workers in volatile zones, or pray for droughts to break.
“There are a million things you can pray for (and your prayers make a difference); you can volunteer at your community center; mow the lawn for the disabled person on your street; strike up a conversation with the guy on your bus who has looked kind of down lately; call your mother… Loving your neighbor can look like many things.”
