Crash Course Into The World Of Ohmega Watts

Yeah. We had a two album deal with them, so this will be it.

What are the odds of another Acts 29 project?

Hmm. Yeah, I don't think it would happen in that way. I think what it kind of evolved into was Lightheaded. Originally, Braille and I were a group called Return to Sender and we were going to work on that. Then at a church that we were attending, their youth group was called Acts 29 and they had put out a CD before. They asked us to help out with another CD. Soul Plasma was heading it up and he talked to me about beats and Braille and we thought it would be alright. It was going to be a free handout for the kids who came to the youth group and it ended up turning into more than we had intended for it to be. We put out a whole album and Braille was doing some of the beats. Braille was only messing around with doing beats back then and when they wrote all their songs and it came out as solid as it did, he was like, "Man, Ohmega, you gotta help fix some of these beats up."

(laughs)

I was like, "Alright, that's not a fix up, I've gotta produce a whole new track. That's alright." So we ended up doing it and that was that. I think it was just that one time thing. It came and went.

Fair enough. I have my copy, so I'm happy.

(laughs)

Alright, now you've got your worldwide tour coming up and some US dates following that. The album's out on the 9th of October. Anything else you want to talk about before we go?

Well. I think bottom line, anyone who's checking this interview out or checking the album out, thanks for the spport. Look out for Lightheaded, Braille, Othello, Ohmega Watts, any of the albums we put out. As well as Theory Hazit, check for releases from the people who I featured on my record. Search around on MySpace and check out their music, too.

Yeah, all some solid projects outright now.

Yeah. I'm planning on getting some beats on the next Theory Hazit album, too. Now that he's out here, he called me up and said, "Man, I need some Ohmega Watts beats on this next record." I'm ready once I get back. He's going with me on the Europe dates - Theory Hazit and Braille - so I think it'll be a good time. Other than that, I think it's all covered.

Thanks for taking some time to chat. I'm looking forward to seeing how the album does for you.

Yeah, as am I. Looking forward to seeing what people have to say about it. Anything you work on, it's always like, you can be happy with it when it's done, but you can't enjoy it as much as someone who didn't have any hand in the process of making it or hasn't heard it at all, except in it's complete finished stage. So I look forward to seeing what people have to say, but I never let what people say - good or bad - really sway what I do. As long as I was happy with it, that's cool.

(laughs)

Well alright then. Thanks a lot enjoy the rest of the evening.

You too. Thanks for the talk.
