ARETHA OFFERS FIRST EVER CHRISTMAS ALBUMGiven her extraordinary career thus far, one would have assumed Aretha Franklin would have recorded at least one holiday collection. But it turns out 2008’s
This Christmas Aretha (DMI) will be her first ever recording fitting that motif. Plus, it will mark the vocal diva’s debut as an exclusive Borders artist. Outside of being sold in the chain’s physical stores, the CD will only be available at Borders.com and its offshoot Waldenbooks. Franklin’s gospel roots will permeate the project on many occasions, including her signature stamp on spirituals like “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “The Lord Will Make A Way,” “Silent Night” and “One Night With The King.”
PIERRE PARTNERS WITH FAMILYTeen artist Robert Pierre is partnering with Family Christian Stores, offering an exclusive 10-song CD with songs from his upcoming project,
Identity (thinkaboutit), to anyone who donates $10 to the store’s James Fund (benefiting orphans and widows around the world). In addition to his artistic career, the 16-year-old is a star basketball player and student worship leader who recently performed on Christ In Youth’s national tour.
